El Ranchito was created specifically to serve children and youth from low-income families. If a family qualifies for the federal free lunch program at school, a child/youth is eligible for El Ranchito.  Thanks to the generosity of many supporters and volunteers, El Ranchito is able to charge only a nominal fee for a nature-immersion camp of the highest quality.

All prospective campers apply for camp by completing the El Ranchito application forms, which include a teacher recommendation. They also attend a registration session with a brief camper interview. Additionally, all campers must have a physician’s release for participation and pass the camp physical. Campers and parent/guardians agree to sign all applicable liability forms and the El Ranchito Pledge.
